Christms Eve a time to reflect...

I usually wait until Christmas Eve after my little one is in bed to wrap presents.  I enjoy that time because it gives me time to think.  Think about Christmas morning and what my little guys face will look like when he sees the presents under the tree.  Think about the days events.  Think about the year that is about to pass us by.  This year I've had a lot to reflect upon...(I will spare you a great majority of the gorey details)

In January, I started beading, at first it was just something to do while my DH was out plowing snow late at night.  AND I wasn't very good.  However, I discovered how much I truly loved the time spent creating things.  So began the journey into beady heaven.  I feel I have learned so much in such a short time, I've met some wonderful people and have made some dear friends and I'm looking forward to seeing what 2012 brings with my creations.  I feel like I want to start branching out a bit and taking up some challenges with different techniques, colors (bolder) and really explore some my deeper passions within beading.  Always a dream to reach for.

With the good, 2011 also brought a lot of personal challenges.   We had to sell our house, but as most people know the market is in a bit of a slump (to say the very least) and it took almost 8 months to finally put the 'SOLD' sticker on that darn sign in my front yard.  Along that 8 month journey there were many bumps and bruises, but we managed to stay strong as a family and weather the storm.  We have found a house, much smaller than our current 3,000 sq. ft. and we will be doing some creative storing ideas and downsizing.  BUT hey, stuff is just stuff and in the end as long as I have my family with me it really doesn't matter what size house I live in or what stuff I have.  I just need to wake up, see their faces and know that I mean something to them, like they mean the world to me.

So with 2011 lessons have been learned, relationships have grown stronger, I've seen things for the first time all over again through my 4 year olds eyes, new friendships have been made, a new business journey has taken wings and I welcome 2012 with open arms.

May each of you have a beautiful holiday season and spend it with the ones you love and love you most dear.

All the best,
Traci

1st Christmas for Getta Gift! Jewellery….A Merry Ho! ho! Ho!…

Well, it hardly feels possible another year is coming to a close, but quite honestly I will welcome 2012 with open arms.  Although this year has been a trying time for me and my family, we have weathered the storm and feel stronger than ever.  I love my boys dearly.

On another note, I have managed to stay focused on my jewelry making and actually feel like I have come a long way since starting in January.  I’ve learned some great techniques and still feel like a sponge learning more.  I’ve made so many wonderful friends in the beading community and believe they will stay with me the rest of my life.

I am very thankful for the response from my customers, nothing feels better than having happy customers (and repeat customers!).  I enjoy making the jewelry and I love that each piece finds a happy home.

My first entry into my ‘new’ blog and I look forward to blogging lots more along this beady journey.  I hope you come along with me and maybe  leave a comment or two along the way.  :)

All the best,

Traci
